2025 Guitar Contest

LE DOMAINE FORGET 2025 GUITAR CONTEST

The contest is open to all students enrolled in the guitar program who wish to have the opportunity to develop their performance and interpretation skills.

Divided into two categories according to age and level of the participants, the competition rewards three guitarists from each category who will have distinguished themselves.

PRE-REQUISITE FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST 

Be duly registered for the 2 weeks of the guitar program.

Please note that previous first prize winners in category A and B can no longer enter the contest (Previous category B winners are eligible to participate in category A).

SCHEDULE 

• The schedule of the 3 steps will be announced at the beginning of the guitar program. 

PRIZES 

CATEGORY A

• 1^st place: CAN$1,000 and a full scholarship for the 2026 program
• 2^nd place: CAN$500 and a scholarship of CAN$1,200 (equivalent to about half the program fees) for the 2026 program
• 3^rd place: CAN$250

CATEGORY B

• 1^st place: CAN$500 and a full scholarship for the 2026 program
• 2^nd place: CAN$250 and a scholarship of CAN$1,200 (equivalent to about half the program fees) for the 2026 program
• 3^rd place: CAN$150

REPERTOIRE 

There is no imposed repertoire. Repertoire presented in quarter-final and semi-final should be completely different. However, works from the quarter and semi-final can be performed again in the final round.

Quarter-final: 8 minutes of music maximum
Semi-final: 10 minutes of music maximum
Final: 15 minutes of music maximum

JURY 

The Guitar Faculty, a Domaine Forget representant and an invited guest will compose the jury.
