FIRST DONATION TO A CULTURAL ORGANIZATION?

You may be eligible to an additional 25% income tax credit for your first major gift to a cultural organization if you meet the following criteria:

• Your donation is between $5,000 and $25,000
• You are a Québec resident
• Your gift is made to a cultural organization such as Domaine Forget de Charlevoix

Applicable only once, for a donation made after July 3, 2013. The income tax credit for a standard contribution is approximately 50% depending on your income tax bracket. With the additional 25%, the actual amount donated is reduced by almost 75%.

Here is an example of how the credit will affect your gift

This table is based on revenues below $109,755. For higher revenues an additional tax allowance will be added to the provincial income tax credit. For revenues above $214,368, the tax allowance will extend to a federal tax credit.
